The Grampians region is bounded by the Grampians National Park and South Australian border to the west, through the towns of Horsham, Nhill, Dimboola, Stawell, Ararat, Daylesford, Ballarat to Bacchus Marsh just outside Melbourne and from Patchewollock in the north to Lake Bolac in the south. 

The Brumby Government is taking action to create jobs and making sure Victorians have the skills they need:

1.

In the Central Highlands-Wimmera Region the unemployment rate has fallen from 8.1% in October 1999 to 7.6% in February 2008.

2.

Creating an additional 150,000 new jobs across Victoria over the next four years and maintaing low unemployment.

3.

Contributing to the new Business Solutions Centre in Ballarat jointly developed by IBM Australia and the University of Ballarat.

4.

Across Victoria creating an additional 4,500 pre-apprenticeship places.

5.

Boosting funding for regional TAFEs.

6.

Moving the State Revenue Office to Ballarat.
