The Loddon region is located north west of Melbourne and extends from Mildura on the Victorian / New South Wales border, through regional centres such as Swan Hill, Kerang, Boort, Bendigo and Kyneton to the south. 

Some of the projects where the Brumby Government is taking action on Environment and Climate Change include:

1.

Provided a boost to protect Victorian farms from pest animals and noxious weeds.

2.

In 2007 more than 1,400 rural Victorians benefited from the Drought Employment Program, which provided wages and material for environmental work in drought affected areas.

3.

Supporting over 12,000 people to participate in Waterwatch programs and 1,800 members of local Landcare groups. 

4.

Introduced Energy and Resource Efficiency Plans for Victoria’s top and energy and water users. The plans will help business improve their energy and water efficiency and reduce waste production.

5.

Introduced the Victorian Renewable Energy Target which will require electricity retailers to purchase 10 per cent of their power from renewable sources.

6.

Invest $50 million in one of the world's largest solar power stations.
