Grampians regional map

 

The Grampians region is bounded by the Grampians National Park and South Australian border to the west, through the towns of Horsham, Nhill, Dimboola, Stawell, Ararat, Daylesford, Ballarat to Bacchus Marsh just outside Melbourne and from Patchewollock in the north to Lake Bolac in the south. 

Some of the local schools where the Brumby Government is taking action include:

1.

Local schools participating in the ‘Go for your life’ Kitchen Garden Project which promotes healthier lifestyles through greater physical activity and healthy eating includes Wendouree Primary School.

2.

Providing the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) to help low-income families meet the costs associated with their child’s education. 

The combined allowance for each child this year is: $430 for parents or carers of secondary school students; and $215 for parents or carers of primary school students.

3.

Local schools participating in the ‘Go for your life’ Kitchen Garden Project which promotes healthier lifestyles through greater physical activity and healthy eating includes Donald Primary School.

4.

New and replacement schools under construction in 2008 include Skene Street Special School – Stawell.

5.

Re-equip technical and science classrooms at all secondary schools across Victoria.

6.

Upgraded local schools include Murtoa College, Ararat Primary School and Ballarat High School.
