The North and West Metropolitan region encompasses the western and northern suburbs of Melbourne and their outer lying areas, as well as central Melbourne encompassing suburbs from Werribee to Eltham.
Some of the projects the Brumby Government is taking action on to make sure the streets are safe include:

1.Refurbishment of the Sunbury Police Station.
2.Doubled the penalties for possession of controlled weapons and prohibited weapons.
3.Introduced new hoon and graffiti legislation.
4.Recently provided funding to replace and upgrade 18 CFA stations including Christmas Hills CFA.
5.Recently provided funding to replace and upgrade seven SES facilities including building a new SES unit at Point Cook.
6.Allocated a $10 million fund to supply Victoria Police with new weapons.
