The Hume region in the north-east of the State extends from the New South Wales border in the north to the outskirts of Melbourne.
Hume encompasses the area of Victoria that is bound by Corryong to the east, Kinglake to the south, Shepparton/Mooroopna to the west and Wodonga to the north.
Some of the projects the Brumby Government is taking action on to make sure the streets are safe include:

1.Developing SES training facilities at Wangaratta.
2.Introduced new hoon and graffiti legislation.
3.Refurbished Woods Point Police Station, Broadford Police Station, Dederang Police Station, Mt. Hotham Police Station and Myrtleford Police Station.
4.Capital funding for Kilmore (24 hour) Police Station, Seymour Police Station and Wallan Police Station.
5.Recently provided funding to upgrade 18 CFA stations including Mitta Mitta CFA.
6.Allocated a $10 million fund to supply Victoria Police with new weapons.
