The Barwon South West region takes in the Western District of Victoria and covers the natural and built environment from the South Australian border to Geelong and Queenscliff and from the south coast to the Southern Grampians.
Some of the projects the Brumby Government is taking action on to make sure the streets are safe include:

1.Rebuilt Apollo Bay Police Station, Beeac Police Station, Cressy Police Station, Forrest Police Station and Lavers Hill Police Station.
2.Recently provided funding to replace and upgrade 18 CFA stations including Geelong fire station.
3.Developing SES training facilities at Penshurst.
4.Recently provided funding to replace and upgrade seven SES units including Geelong SES.
5.Refurbished Branxholme Police Station and Penshurst Police Station.
6.Allocated a $10 million fund to supply Victoria Police with new weapons.
