The Andrews Labor Government is getting on with opening more doors for people to get active and play a range of sports across the Latrobe Valley.
Touring the Valley today, Minister for Sport John Eren and Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing announced a funding boost for the Moe Bowling Club, while also officially opening the new Traralgon Tennis Show Court.
Grassroots clubs are the heart and soul of the Gippsland community, and they deserve safe modern facilities.
We promised them and we are now delivering $100,000 to build an all-weather synthetic grass bowling green for the Moe Bowling Club.
It will be more durable, easy to maintain and doesn’t require watering – so the club is doing its bit for the environment while keeping up with the demand for year-round bowls.
The Labor Government is delivering the new green through our Community Sports Infrastructure Fund, which is giving communities like the Latrobe Valley the facilities they need to grow and attract even more members.
In Traralgon, a $650,000 Government investment has also helped serve up the new $1.3 million Traralgon Tennis Club Show Court.
Featuring two brand new show courts with seating for 3,000 spectators, plexi-cushion surfaces, lighting and fencing, Traralgon is ready to ace more international tennis events.
