Expressions of interest are being sought from people keen to join Victoria’s Game Management Authority (GMA) board.
The GMA is an independent statutory authority responsible for the regulation and sustainable management of game hunting in Victoria and is responsible for issuing Game Licences, managing open and closed seasons for game species, enforcing game hunting laws and education on how to hunt legally.
Minister for Agriculture, Jaala Pulford, is seeking to appoint six new Directors to the board who can offer the expertise necessary for the GMA to achieve its functions and objectives.
Relevant skills and experience include legal, finance, accounting, communications, land management, game hunting and wildlife management including pest animal management, aboriginal culture and identity, wildlife biology or ecology, animal welfare.
The Labor Government has pledged to ensure that all new appointments to Victorian Government Boards demonstrate gender equality and comprise 50 per cent of women. As such, women are encouraged to apply.

The Government invested $5.33 million in the Victorian Budget 2016/17 to support safe, responsible and sustainable hunting and in December released the Sustainable Hunting Action Plan.
