Better Buildings Thanks To School Pride At Skye Primary School

20 April 2016

Students and teachers at Skye Primary School will soon be able to enjoy upgraded buildings and other facilities after receiving a School Pride grant from the Andrews Labor Government.

The funding, worth $60,000, was announced today by Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Carrum Sonya Kilkenny.

Better classrooms and improved school grounds make a huge difference for students.

This is in addition to $747 million in funding for Victorian schools already announced in September 2015 as part of the Labor Government's plan to make Victoria the Education State.

In making Victoria the Education State, the Labor Government wants to ensure that every child has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Supporting students is vital for our state, as is building pride and confidence in our schools.

Future rounds of School Pride Funding will roll out through the 2016-17 year.
