Barwon Water Announces New Managing Director

09 October 2016

The Andrews Labor Government today welcomed the appointment of Tracey Slatter as the new Managing Director of Barwon Water.

Ms Slatter brings a wealth of management experience to the role having had several years at the helm of local councils, as well as executive experience in the greater Geelong region.

She was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of Port Philip City Council. Her previous roles include CEO of Colac Otway Shire, Head of Claims at the TAC, Director of Primary and Community Health in the Victorian Health Department and a Director of the G21 Geelong Region Alliance.

She will play a key role in driving Barwon Water’s efforts to provide quality and cost-effective water and sewerage services, secure the region’s water supplies, strengthen the economy, promote liveability and protect the environment.

Ms Slatter was appointed by the Chair of Barwon Water, Jo Plummer, and her board. She replaces Joe Adamski who has been Managing Director for the last four years.

Barwon Water opened the key role to the market in July to coincide with the contract of Mr Adamski ending on December 31.

Mr Adamski has been with Barwon Water since 1987 and has held several executive roles.
