Another Liberal MP Discredits A Distinguished Victorian

10 June 2017

Georgie Crozier must immediately apologise after unleashing an unprecedented attack on a former Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police.

To label an independent review by the distinguished Neil Comrie AO APM as a “whitewash” proves that the Liberals are prepared to say anything to score cheap political points.

This review into recent escapes from the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre by a distinguished security expert, exposes significant weaknesses in the infrastructure built by the previous Liberal Government who only pay lip service to law and order

This is a pattern of increasingly erratic behaviour from the Liberals.

Matthew Guy recently criticised Victoria Police and said the Victorian Budget didn’t provide a single extra cent to keep Victorians safe, despite almost $5 billion in funding for youth justice, police, corrections, and combatting family violence.

Mr Guy also continues to back David Davis after his abusive rant at Steve Dimopoulos, as well as Brad Battin despite his false and disgraceful slurs on Black Saturday firefighters.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Families and Children Jenny Mikakos

“This is a disgraceful attack on the integrity of a former Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police and Ms Crozier should apologise immediately.”

“Matthew Guy has set an example to his team that disgraceful, unfounded slurs on hard working, highly respected Victorians is acceptable – it’s not.”

“We are rebuilding Victoria’s youth justice system to keep staff, young offenders and the community safe.”
