The Victorian Coalition Government will spend an additional $70 million next year to better support Victorians with a mental illness or drug and alcohol addiction, Minister for Mental Health Mary Wooldridge said today.
 

A record $1.14 billion for mental health in the 2012-13 Victorian Budget will provide better access to mental health services across the state, Mental Health Minister Mary Wooldridge said today.

A record $146.4 million investment in alcohol and drug initiatives in the 2012-13 Victorian Budget will help kick-start reforms in the treatment sector, Mental Health Minister Mary Wooldridge said today.

Victorians with a mental illness will be able to access improved and integrated hospital and community-based mental health care services under the Victorian Coalition Government’s $104.8 million investment in mental health.

The Victorian Coalition Government is investing $188 million in new funding for improved prevention and treatment services to reduce the harm that alcohol and drugs cause in the community.
